Cavotec signs orders from two Mediterranean ports

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II has announced plans to equip its terminal with shore power by 2028.

PSA will equip the Europa Terminal with a 7.5MW shore power system by 2026, enabling 100 container ships to reduce CO2 emissions by 10,309t annually.

Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam will be equipped with shore power by 2030, connecting 5,000 vessels annually.

Cavotec’s vacuum mooring system has been inaugurated at APM Terminals MedPort Tangier.

The Port of Oakland has achieved a record 94% shore power plug-in rate for container ships in the first half of 2024, a significant rise from 85% in 2023.

Construction began on Scotland’s largest commercial shore power system at the Port of Aberdeen, aiming to supply clean electricity to vessels by March 2025.
