The planned 48-hour strike at Fremantle Ports, which was scheduled to start last Sunday, 25 August, has been cancelled following successful negotiations between Fremantle Ports and Marine Services employees.

Vessel Traffic Services Officers and Small Craft Masters were set to begin industrial action at 5:30 am on Sunday over employment terms. However, the strike did not proceed after an in-principle agreement was reached on Friday, 23 August, local media reported.

Fremantle Ports CEO Jodie Ransom praised the resolution, stating, “This is a positive outcome that will ensure there is no disruption to shipping lines, importers, exporters, and the public. It shows that respectful negotiation can deliver good results for everyone involved.”

With the strike called off, operations at Fremantle Port continued as usual, avoiding any potential delays or disruptions.
