Dubai-based DP World has opened 51 new freight forwarding offices across Asia Pacific.
Dubai-based ports and logistics giant DP World has launched 51 new freight forwarding offices across Asia Pacific to strengthen its role as a comprehensive supply chain solutions provider.
The expansion, which increases DP World’s global office count to 161, aims to support businesses in managing the complexities of the rapidly growing logistics market in the region. The new offices, focusing on air and ocean freight, are supported by DP World’s extensive infrastructure, including ports, terminals, warehouses, trucks, rail, and vessels.
“Global trade is in the midst of an unprecedented era of flux in the face of growing geopolitical and economic uncertainty. We have an opportunity to help businesses navigate increasingly complex supply chains, as they seek enhanced market access and streamlined but resilient logistics from factory floor to customer door,” said Glen Hilton, CEO & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, DP World.
“With our expanded regional freight forwarding network backed by decades of experience in managing ports and terminals, our customers can count on us to support them in achieving their growth ambitions.”
DP World said that the full range of logistics services includes order and origin management, port handling and freight management for ocean and air, as well as at-destination services such as customs clearance and bonded warehousing services. The services can be accessed through a single digital window, backed by an integrated Global Services Centre that centralises back-end processes.
DP World said that the expansion aims to capitalise on the growing business potential of APAC, which has been described as the largest and fastest-growing region in the world for outsourced logistics, set to account for 40% of global revenues for contract logistics services by 2027. This year, it is also the fastest-growing region in the world in terms of both exports and imports – at over 5% growth each, DP World added.
Beyond widening its APAC freight forwarding network, DP World has also been strengthening its capabilities in other areas of logistics across the region over the last few months.
