A crew member died during operations on the PCTC Grande Baltimora in Melbourne, with an investigation and support for the family underway.
The Grimaldi Group has confirmed the death of a 34-year-old Filipino crew member during a commercial operation involving the Grimaldi’s PCTC Grande Baltimora at the port of Melbourne on 19 June 2024.
In a statement to WorldCargo News, the company expressed deep regret over the incident and assured that a thorough investigation is underway with full cooperation from all relevant authorities.
The company is also providing close support to the deceased’s family and assisting the crew on board.
The vessel will remain in port until local authorities complete their investigations.
No further details about the seafarer have been released.
