Container leasing specialist opens its new Middle Eastern regional office in Dubai, UAE.

Seaco, which is the fourth largest lessor of maritime containers in the world, has opened its new regional management office for the Americas in Houston, Texas.

Bloomberg has reported that HNA Group is preparing to sell container leasing company Seaco for “about $1 billion”.

After several years of strong expansion, the reefer leasing industry grew more modestly in 2017, and new investment fell to its lowest level in almost decade.

Late last year, Carrier Transicold announced that Seaco had placed an order for 100 NaturaLINE CO2 reefer units, making it the first leasing company to order Carrier’s next generation reefer machinery.

At the Intermodal Europe exhibition in Amsterdam last month, Willy Yeo, director of marketing, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold, said Carrier can now offer R513A as a dropin replacement for R134a
