Update on Manta dispute

As reported in the February 2009 edition of WorldCargo News, the bitter dispute between Hutchison Port Holdings and the Ecuadorean government over the port of Manta has ended with the Hong Kong-based operator walking away from the US$525M TIDE concession after less than two years and four months of the 30-year concession contract. HPH left the facility on February 28, just over three weeks after it announced that it would be closing down TIDE in “an orderly fashion”
