More 45ft boxes for P&O Ferrymasters

P&O Ferrymasters (P&OF) has launched a new intermodal rail service to Russia plus a new service to Poland for the UK and other European markets. The company will offer a daily rail link from Rotterdam to Poland and a bi-weekly service from Poland to Moscow (and back again). It says it is the first operator to offer a through train service from Rotterdam to a Moscow rail terminal.

P&O Ferrymasters, part of DP World, has launched its first intermodal service to Russia using 45ft containers. These are shipped from Hull or Rotterdam to Klaipeda for onward transit by road by a newly-appointed local partner.

P&O Ferrymasters has started a new “marathon” intermodal service between northern Europe and Athens and is setting its sights on delivering consignments into Turkey by the middle of 2006. The new service, says Ferrymasters, delivers greater flexibility for European customers who previously had to wait for specialist transport to arrive from Greece for a return journey, which often meant missing vital production or manufacturing deadlines.

Geest North Sea Line, Norfolkline and P&O Ferrymasters have teamed up with Rail Development Partners (RDP) to launch a daily shuttle train service from the Rotterdam Shortsea Terminal (RST) to Rogoredo in Milan, Italy.
