Savi opts for fibre-optic solution
US-based Savi Technology has recently introduced a new style of electronic seal, incorporating a fibre-optic loop, which is aimed at non-standard freight applications. The device is capable of instantaneously detecting security problems and will alert appropriate personnel whenever it has been tampered with or opened. It adds to the electronic “Savi SmartSeal” bolt introduced in late 2001, and which has since been targeted at the container transport sector.
