After years of delay, the deepwater port at Gwadar is finally on. Pakistan’s close ally China will bank-roll the project to the tune of USS198 mill in soft loans and China Harbour Engineering Co has been given the job of developing three 200m multi-purpose berths with a depth alongside of 12.5m, accessed by a 5 km approach channel.
