Kandla deal back on

Just a month after P&O Ports (P&OP) threatened to drop its proposal to build a new container terminal at Kandla in the western Indian state of Gujurat due to continuous delays in project execution (see WorldCargo News September 2001, p3), the Kandla Port Trust (KPT) has finally approved the company’s bid. KPT chief, A K Joti, confirmed that the KPT board had approved the P&OP proposal, though it still has to be officially cleared by the Ministry of Shipping.
