EXSIF Worldwide, the world’s largest tank container lessor following the acquisition last year of the TAL tank leasing business, placed orders for nearly 500 new tank containers and tank chassis during the first quarter of 2001.

Two-thirds of the tank newbuilds are to cover pre-arranged leases for specific customers, with the balance for general leasing purposes. The majority are specials of various types and capacities for specific application within the chemical industry
