Long Beach plans rail expansion

The Port of Long Beach has released a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a proposed Pier B on-dock Rail Support Facility. Currently, around 28% of all cargo moved in and out of Long Beach is handled by on-dock rail, and the port wants to increase that figure to 35%. To achieve this, the port wants to reconfigure and expand its existing Pier B rail yard.
