While a company called Great Lakes Basin Transportation Inc (GLBT) is trying to build a new US$8B rail line around Chicago, Hunter Harrison, CEO of Canadian Pacific (CP), said the industry should not give up on railroad mergers as a way to make the US Intermodal system’s main choke point more efficient.
