More light – less energy

RSGT is set to start operations at the much-anticipated Patenga Container Terminal (PCT) in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port on June 10.

Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) is investing US$70M to increase capacity. Berth length has been increased from 1,070m to 1,350m, allowing three ≥14,000 TEU vessels to be berthed simultaneously, while the turning basin has been enlarged to a 750m diameter, with a depth of 16.5m.

The Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in the Saudi Arabian port of Jeddah has just completed a major expansion programme, costing US$70M. It has led to its main berth being lengthened by 105m to 865m, the main approach channel dredged to 17m, and the turning basis expanded to a diameter of 750m.

Navarangpura (Ahmedabad)-based Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest privately controlled port operating and logistics company, is keen to expand globally, with a number of overseas projects under evaluation. Currently, APSEZ’s only international venture is coal handling activities at the port Abbot Point, Australia.
