EU votes to impose tariffs on Chinese electric cars
NewsEU Member States have voted to impose tariffs on Chinese battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as talks with Beijing continue.
The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has launched an appeal for Europe to adopt longer, heavier vehicles – 25.25m long/60t mgw rigs, known as LHVs, or eco-combis, or gigaliners. Although organisations representing road hauliers and forwarding companies in a number of EU member states have been vociferous in their support for LHVs, up to now the IRU has adopted a more nuanced position.
