Aschaffenburg, the westernmost inland port in the German state of Bavaria, has been rail-linked with Antwerp through a new joint service from NYK Logistics, Megacarrier and Contargo. Dubbed Aschaffenburg Rail Express (ARX), it adds to similar services linking Aschaffenburg with Rotterdam and Amsterdam launched a year ago.

The new container shuttle will operate on a three pairs/week basis, said Bayernhafen Group, Bavaria’s inland ports and intermodal transhipment operator.
