Rail automation live in Australia
NewsQube commenced “normal automated operations” at the import/export terminal (IMEX) of the new Moorebank rail facility near Sydney in May and June this year.
Kühne & Nagel (K&N), the world’s biggest NVOCC, is opening a new intermodal terminal at Hams Hall to facilitate its target of 50% inland moves by rail over Britain’s main ports (Southampton and Felixstowe) within two years. Peter Ulber, CEO, North West Europe, said that K&N currently achieves 25% by rail in Great Britain and that already compares favourably with the general market average of 10% (all British ports).
