China rail can’t cope

China has admitted that despite steady growth in carrying capacity, its rail freight system is struggling to cope with the growing demands of its burgeoning economy. Demand on the Beijing-Shanghai route connecting the capital to the country’s biggest port is currently exceeding capacity by 50 per cent.
