A new cargo terminal has been opened at VR Cargo’s Kouvola rail station in southeast Finland to facilitate Russian traffic flows, in particular paper exports from Finland. The freight station here traditionally concentrates on Russian o/d flows. The new covered facility occupies 9720 m2 and, with a clear height of 6.5m, can accommodate up to 8t/m2 of paper reels.
