Dragados goes loco?
Dragados-SPL is considering running its own locos on the Renfe national network. The precedents are hardly auspicious-take the failed TCC Seatrain project, for example, which proved that you could not run a rail service without Renfe, but perhaps times have moved on. Certainly, Alfredo Duro, director, terminals for Dragados-SPL, is confident: “We are now five years down the line and thereby closer to rail liberalisation,” he remarks.
