Audit decries rail shortcomings

The Victorian Government’s Transport, Distribution and Logistics (TDL) audit (see last month’s WorldCargo News p19) has highlighted problems faced by the rail sector in the state and made a number of recommendations for action, especially in light of the government’s commitment to a significantly increased role for rail in intra- and inter-state freight over the next 10 years and particularly in relation to the Port of Melbourne.
