Fort Vale and Pelican contest valve patent

Following extensive testing at a facility in Germany, tank fittings specialist Fort Vale Engineering has launched a new 3in vent valve with integral flame arrester for rail tank cars that is designed specifically to satisfy the requirements of RID 6.8.2.2.3.

UK-based Tank container component manufacturer Fort Vale Engineering has had its ASME “U” Stamp accreditation renewed following a recent audit and tri-annual review. The company first qualified in 1992.

Building on its established manufacturing presence in China, tank container fittings manufacturer Pelican Worldwide has opened its first domestic sales office in the country.

Dutch tank component manufacturer Pelican Worldwide has won the court case brought against it by Fort Vale Engineering over alleged patent infringement.

Tank component manufacturers point out that the traditionally competitive and quality-driven nature of their business sets them up well for the challenges posed by a slowing world economy.

Fort Vale Engineering Ltd has achieved certification for its Highlift-style footvalve to EN 14433:2006, the new European standard governing the design of footvalves for use with tanks engaged in the transport of dangerous liquid chemicals.
