Kalmar is aiming to complete the AutoStrad cycle by automating road truck loading and unloading in the interchange zone, up to now a task that must be performed by a remote control operator. Attendees at Kalmar’s recent Automation Days event were able to see an AutoStrad pick up a 53ft container, travel with it, and then ground it again, in repeated cycles in the test yard.
