When they emerged from their trial phases earlier this year, shipping portals GT Nexus, CargoSmart and INTTRA looked as though they were heading in the same direction: allowing shippers and consignees access to multiple carriers through a single site and concentrating on providing track and trace and documentation functions. They have now begun, in various ways, to add to these capabilities and to show clear differences in objectives and approach.
