Despite concerted international efforts through the Montreal Protocol to phase out the production and consumption of ozone depleting substances (ODSs), there is evidence that the Arctic and Antarctic “ozone holes” are still growing and that the recovery of the earth’s ozone layer may take longer than envisaged.
