Thailand to test 12ft rail containers

Thailand is collaborating with Japan on a study into using 12ft intermodal containers as part of a rail system connecting the port of Laem Chabang and Dawei in Myanmar. The 12ft Japanese Rail Container is used extensively in Japan’s intermodal system. The containers have doors on either side that open right to the corner post along the length of the container, enabling fast and easy access for loading goods.
