Konecranes has reported two new RTG orders.

In Mexico, Grupo CICE has ordered two machines for its multipurpose terminal in Veracruz. The RTGs will be 16-wheel machines with a lifting capacity of 40LT, lifting 1-over-5 high and spanning seven rows plus truck lane. They will be equipped with Konecranes’ Active Load Control system, which eliminates container sway, and Konecranes’ Diesel Fuel Saver technology.

Grupo CICE has also selected Konecranes Autosteering feature, which keeps the crane on a pre-programmed, straight path during gantry travel, the Stack Collision Prevention system, and the Trucon nect remote monitoring service.

Grupo CICE has previous experience with Konecranes Lifttrucks, and “due to the experience we already have with Konecranes, Grupo CICE has decided to rely on their equipment, and is proud to announce the acquisition of two RTGs”, the company stated. “They will arrive by the end of this year.”

Meanwhile, Konecranes received another order for six RTG cranes from GCT Canada Limited Partnership for its GCT Deltaport facility, located in Port Metro Vancouver, Canada. This follows Deltaport’s first order for Konecranes RTGs, placed in April last year, and due for delivery in spring 2016.

The six additional machines will be delivered fully erect in the winter of 2017, giving GCT Deltaport a fleet of 12 Konecranes RTGs. Approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), the 16-wheel machines have a lifting capacity of 40LT, lifting 1-over-5 high and spanning seven rows plus truck lane. They will be equipped with a Tier 4 Final diesel genset, Konecranes’ Diesel Fuel Saver technology and Active Load Control System.

For equipment monitoring and maintenance the RTGs Crane Management System (CMS) will be linked with a Remote CMS system in GCT Deltaport’s central maintenance building. “This will allow simultaneous monitoring of all the cranes, with implications for improving maintenance,” said Konecranes. “Additional hardware will be installed in the cranes to enable communication between the cranes and GCT Deltaport’s terminal operating system.”
