Automation was a leading topic at the TOC CSC Europe conference in Rotterdam this month. Giving the keynote address, Frank Tazelaar, managing director of APM Terminals MVII terminal in Rotterdam, said there is a lot of misinformation in the industry about how terminals should approach automation projects, and he called on the vendor community to adopt a more “professional” integrated systems engineering approach to automation.
