New service calls Mundra

News

Mundra International Container Terminal has received the first call by a vessel deployed in Maersk’s new Mid-East, India, South and West Africa service

Maersk Line’s new direct "MESAWA" service is touted as the fastest service from India to South and West Africa. This is a weekly service from Jebel Ali, Mundra and Nhava Sheva to South and West Africa. United Africa Feeder Line is chartering slots in the service, following discontinuation of Maersk's MISA service.

With this service, Maersk Line intends to reduce the transit time on the trade route. The weekly service is scheduled to call at MICT every Tuesday. It will deploy ten 3500 TEU vessels with the following port rotation: Jebel Ali, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Durban, Luanda, Apapa, Tincan, Cotonou, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Port Louis, Jebel Ali.
