GFC expands Oz container interests

US-based General Finance Corporation (GFC) and its indirect 86.2%-owned subsidiary RWA Holdings Pty Ltd (Royal Wolf) have reached an agreement to acquire the dry and refrigerated container assets of Perth-based Container Hire and Sales (CHS) for A$4.0M (US$3.7M).

The acquisition will see Royal Wolf add 630 containers to its fleet, of which around 570 units are leased in the mining-dominated Western Australia marketplace. CHS’s activities will be consolidated at an existing Royal Wolf customer service centre in Bibra Lakes, south of Perth.
