Koper places big equipment order

Automation, central to ongoing discussions between the ILA and USMX, is viewed by Konecranes’ CEO as the way forward for port equipment.

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II has revealed a massive order for up to 71 Konecranes AGVs to support its capacity expansion project at the Port of Rotterdam.

Konecranes reported a net profit increase of over 40% year-on-year for both the third quarter and year-to-date figures, driven by strong performance in its service and port solutions segments.

Global terminal operators do not believe Chinese-made cranes represent a cybersecurity risk; ZPMC still dominates the market, but not to the extent it did previously.

Konecranes plans to acquire Rotterdam’s Peinemann Port Services and Container Handling, pending approval from Dutch regulators.

Siemens is providing automation and remote control systems for STS, RTG, and RMG cranes in Rotterdam, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia.
