Low-profile STS cranes for Virginia
NewsThe Port of Virginia has ordered four low-profile STS cranes from ZPMC to meet height restrictions and service ULCVs at the Norfolk International Terminal.
The Snag Overload System (SOS) developed by Pintsch Bubenzer and Malmedie of Germany is now said to have been installed on 80 STS container cranes worldwide. The SOS is a non-hydraulic system, instead using a safety coupling and fast-acting braking system to protect the crane in an overload situation.
