Konecranes CEO: Digitalisation and automation over time is a given
NewsAutomation, central to ongoing discussions between the ILA and USMX, is viewed by Konecranes’ CEO as the way forward for port equipment.
Konecranes has received an order for 12 RTGs from Lomé Container Terminal (LCT), a Terminal Investment Ltd (TIL) concession, in Togo. TIL, which is closely aligned with MSC, is developing LCT under a 35 year concession awarded in 2008. On completion, the terminal is expected to have an annual capacity of 1.5M TEU. The delivery will take the number of Konecranes RTGs in operation in West Africa to 48, said Konecranes’ sales director, port cranes, Antoine Bosquet.
