Linde FLTs for Chile

News

Antofagasta Chile’s Antofagasta Terminal Internacional has taken delivery of seven new Linde 7t FLTs at a cost of E369M (US$500,000) for ground-handling of copper and other general cargo

Earlier this year, ATI took delivery of its third Gottwald mobile harbour crane, a new generation (Generation 5) model G HMK 6407 for handling container ships up to Panamax size. The E3.6M crane represents ATI’s first investment in a new HMC, as its existing Gottwald cranes were acquired second-hand.

ATI’s general manager Gastón Bastías said the new investments would help the company provide faster and safer handling services and improved productivity.

Around 40% of the cargo moved by ATI in 2007 involved containerised copper, machinery or general cargo. ATI claims a 15% share of regional general cargo and copper traffic. It also says that it loads 95% of privately-mined minerals in the region.
