In 2001 Dalian Heavy Industries (DHI) and Dalian Crane Works (DCW) merged to form the DHI-DCW Group Co, Ltd. Prior to the merger DHI was well-known in the metallurgical, material handling, energy and chemical industries, whereas DCW was a well-established crane manufacturer.
