APM Terminals Maasvlakte II orders up to 71 Lift AGVs from Konecranes
NewsAPM Terminals Maasvlakte II has revealed a massive order for up to 71 Konecranes AGVs to support its capacity expansion project at the Port of Rotterdam.
Although final decisions will not be taken until later this year, it seems almost certain that Euromax Terminal, the new 50:50 ECT/P&O Nedlloyd (P&ONL) joint venture in Rotterdam slated to open in early 2004, will use low height, manned straddle carriers to shuttle between the quayside cranes and the ship end of stacks operated by 3- or 4-high stacking automated stacking cranes (ASCs) aligned transversally with the quay.
