The bi-state port authority of New York/New Jersey has thrown an interesting light on the recent decision by one of its tenants, Global, to replace its long-standing all-wheeled yard operation with RTGs (8 + 8 1 over 5/6 + 1 machines were ordered from Kalmar with Smartrail technology last year – see WorldCargo News, September 2000, p1).
