Purfresh granted European patent

California-based Purfresh Inc, best known for its Purfresh Transport ozone-enhanced active atmosphere technology, has added modified atmosphere, temperature control and shock monitoring functions to the system.

Machinery manufacturers have benefited from the reefer construction boom of the past two years, but demand has tailed off in recent months.

Despite losing the support of Carrier Transicold (see WorldCargo News April 2012, p18) Purfresh Inc is continuing to sign up new customers for its ozone-enhanced “active atmosphere” system, which is designed to protect organic products shipped in reefer containers from decay.

Purfresh Inc has announced a 200% year-on-year increase in demand for its Purfresh Transport ozone-enhanced controlled atmosphere technology, designed to protect shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables in reefer containers, as well as the fifth consecutive year of record growth.

Purfresh Inc has announced a further expansion of its global partner network selling and supporting its Purfresh Transport ozoneenhanced atmosphere technology.
