Fortress comes down in Tilbury

A controversial change in the way business rates for British port operators are calculated has resulted in the first casualty. Forest products terminal operator Fortress Warehousing and Distribution (formerly Westerlund UK) has gone into voluntary liquidation, having been presented with a £2.4M rates bill by Thurrock District Council.
