Rail automation live in Australia
NewsQube commenced “normal automated operations” at the import/export terminal (IMEX) of the new Moorebank rail facility near Sydney in May and June this year.
The TraPac redevelopment in the Port of Los Angeles is writing another chapter in port automation.
The TraPac terminal in Los Angeles will be the first terminal on the US West Coast to feature automated stacking cranes (ASCs) and the second in the world to use automated straddle carriers. TraPac operates berths 136-147 in LA’s West Basin and in 2008 agreed to a 30-year lease with the Port of Los Angeles that includes a major redevelopment of the existing terminal.
