The New South Wales Government has approved the A$270 mill first stage of BHP’s planned multi-purpose terminal on the former Newcastle Steelworks site, tenders for which closed at the end of May. Newcastle Port Corporation (NPC) said it had 19 proposals submitted for the new terminal, to be known as HubPort Australia.
