Jasper County in South Carolina (SC) has again extended its exclusive contract with Seattle-based SSA Marine to build and operate a new container terminal on the Savannah River. An agreement for the socalled South Atlantic Container Terminal (SACT), requiring an investment of US$350-400 mill and with an eventual capacity of 2 mill TEU/year, was originally reached three years ago.
