Fire breaks out at VCTPL
NewsA fire at Visakhapatnam Container Terminal originated from a container with lithium batteries and was quickly controlled with no injuries or major damage.
Twenty-eight international and local companies have bought “request for proposal” documents for the Rs53.48B (US$1.34B) container transhipment terminal to be built at Vizhinjam in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
The foreign companies include PSA International, APM Terminals and Japan’s Marubeni Corp, while prominent Indian port developers interested in the development include Reliance Industries, Gammon India and Larsen & Toubro.
