Karachi terminal to cost US$457M

Initial investment by Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) in the construction of Karachi New Port (KNP) Container Terminals is estimated at US$457M, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) chairwoman Nasreen Haque said.

She said the KPT has been assured a minimum royalty payment of US$1.1B over the 25 year concession period but as per traffic projections, the earnings will go up to US$2.6B from royalty and lease charges.
