Important changes have been taking place in the supply side of the harbour mobile crane industry. For one thing, from this month, Demag Mobile Cranes GmbH Gottwald is the new name for Mannesmann-Dematic Gottwald.
The change follows the sale of Mannesmann AG’s ATECS division to a Bosch/Siemens consortium last year (WorldCargo News, April 2000, p1). Demag Mobile Cranes GmbH is being merged with the production and logistics division of Siemens AG (subject to approval of the US antitrust authorities) to form a new company, Siemens Dematic AG.
