The Global Institute of Logistics (GIL) is offering terminals the opportunity to purchase the data and information behind its Container Terminal Quality Indicator (CTQI) for their own internal use, without having to sign up for the review and audit process to become CTQI-certified by Germanisher Lloyd.

GIL developed the CTQI as part of its goal of developing international standards it considered were needed to optimise the flow of cargo and data in maritime transport. It was launched in 2008 but to date only four terminals have become CTQI-certified – Container Terminal Altenwerder in Hamburg, two terminals in Cartagena, Columbia, operated by Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Cartagena, and Muuga Container Terminal in Estonia.
