Vizhinjam attracts interest

The South Indian state of Kerala’s Ports Department has received 11 expressions of interest from Indian and international port developers for the construction of a deepwater international container transhipment terminal at Vizhinjam on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis (see WorldCargo News January 2004, p8). Techno-economic proposals have now been invited from the bidders for which the deadline has been set as June 31.
