CSCL launches new China-Russia intermodal service

China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) and the Chinese Ministry of Railways have started a container rail service between China and Russia that will cut transit times by more than half.

CSCL managing director Huang Xiaowen said the first train left on October 9 and was expected to take just 26 days to reach Moscow. Moving cargo from Asia to Moscow is a “herculean task” that can take 55 to 60 days, he said.
