Operations at Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT), Egypt’s largest container handling facility, will be boosted by the decision of the Suez Canal Authority to dredge a new side channel to the main canal. It will mean that vessel calling at SCCT will not have to fine-tune their operations to fit in with the Suez Canal convoys. Currently, vessels are restricted to an eight-hour window.
