Russia’s Rostov Universal Port (RUP) should proceed next year with construction of the final phase of its new multimodal transport and logistics hub on the left bank of the River Don near the Sea of Azov.

Transcontainer, the intermodal daughter of Russian Railways (RZD) recently acquired a 100% stake in Western Port (ZP), a facility on the left bank of the River Don at Rostov-na-Donu, close to the Sea of Azov, where it plans to build a 50,000 TEU/ year container terminal.
